چکیده

The deployment of Workflow Management systems is a timeconsuming and error-prone task. A possible solution is process mining, which automatically extracts workflow models from event-data logs. However, the current research in process mining still has problems in mining some common constructs in workflow models. Among these constructs are short loops, which are loops of length one and two. For instance, the α-algorithm was proven to mine sound Structured Workflow nets without short loops. In this paper, we present a new algorithm (the α-algorithm) that can handle short loops, and we prove that it correctly mines all sound Structured Workflow nets. The α-algorithm is based on the α-algorithm and is implemented in the EMiT tool.

Workflow Mining: Current Status and Future Directions

Current workflow management systems require the explicit design of the workflows that express the business process of an organization. This process design is very time consuming and error prone. Considerable work has been done to develop heuristics to mine event-data logs to produce a process model that can support the workflow design process. However, all the existing heuristic-based mining al...

Comparison of golden section search method and imperialist competitive algorithm for optimization cut-off grade- case study: Mine No. 1 of Golgohar

Optimization of the exploitation operation is one of the most important issues facing the mining engineers. Since several technical and economic parameters depend on the cut-off grade, optimization of this parameter is of particular importance. The aim of this optimization is to maximize the net present value (NPV). Since the objective function of this problem is non-linear, three methods can b...

Process Mining for Ubiquitous Mobile Systems: An Overview and a Concrete Algorithm

Ubiquitous Mobile Systems (UMSs) allow for automated capturing of events. Both mobility and ubiquity are supported by electronic means such as mobile phones and PDAs and technologies such as RFID, Bluetooth, WLAN, etc. These can be used to automatically record human behavior and business processes in detail. UMSs typically also allow for more flexibility. The combination of flexibility (i.e., t...

An imperialist competitive algorithm for solving the production scheduling problem in open pit mine

Production scheduling (planning) of an open-pit mine is the procedure during which the rock blocks are assigned to different production periods in a way that the highest net present value of the project achieved subject to operational constraints. The paper introduces a new and computationally less expensive meta-heuristic technique known as imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA) for long-term...

Resilient Decision Making in Open Pit Short-term Production Planning in Presence of Geologic Uncertainty

Short-term production plans are the basis for operational mine production schedules. They concentrate on making long-term mine plans operationally feasible. Furthermore, some variables such as ore grade and tonnage govern mine production systems and cause uncertainty in the supply of raw materials to the mills. Due to the quality variation of material, short-term production optimization is an u...
